YELLOW DOG TENNIS AUGUST UPDATE!
HAPPY SUMMER! I sincerely hope that all of you have been able to enjoy the summer of 2019 thus far.
Carol, Crewser, and I have been enjoying our first more relaxed outdoor season. The original plan was to vacation for the outdoor season, but I realized fairly quickly that refraining from teaching all spring/summer didn’t feel quite right. Teaching 10-20 hours per week seems to be the right amount of time on court; it allows me to do the two things I truly enjoy, teach tennis and spend time on the “Faithful Servant” with my family.
There is still plenty of summer left, but, as we all know, August will vanish like a summer sunset and that means indoor tennis is right around the corner!
As in past years, we will be offering a complete junior and adult instructional program. The junior program will be held after school Monday-Thursday. As per usual, the classes will be full of all the necessary ingredients required to create the area’s best junior classes. My staff and I will blend together 2 cups of our signature Enthusiasm along with a large amount of Knowledge and a heaping tablespoon of Fun to create a memorable and extremely productive indoor experience for your junior player. I will be present and teach all of our junior classes and will have a minimum of two high caliber Coaches working alongside me each clinic. LADIES DOUBLES TEAM PREP PROGRAM
This season you will have two options to choose from.
SUMMER (Now through August)
I will be available for private instruction for the remainder of the summer months. I will also be available for ad hoc semi-private and group instruction.
FALL (Month of September)
I will be available for private, semi-private, and group instruction during the month of September. We will not be running a formal junior program during September, but, we will schedule customized clinics for those who are interested for their junior player (and pals of similar ability) to participate in clinics periodically during the month of September.
After poking around our website, if you find you have any questions or need more information regarding our classes please do not hesitate to email me at Paul@YellowDogTennis.com
Thanks to all of you for making Yellow Dog Tennis such a great success! Our program has become quite popular in a very short period of time and we look forward to growing our "pack" in the coming year :)
Enjoy the rest of your summer,
YELLOW DOG TENNIS
Indoor Junior Tennis Clinics
October 21, 2019- April 2, 2020
Make Up Week: April 6 through 9, 2020
We offer 6 levels of classes; maximum on court ratio is 6:1.
BEGINNER TO ADVANCED CLASSES:
Tuesdays: 4:30-6:00pm $990
These classes will focus on building a solid foundation with footwork, correct grips and excellent technical stroke production. Students will be challenged with a combination of dynamic feeding and live ball drills, utilizing appropriate fun games to reinforce clinic lessons. Our goal is to ensure that each student has mastered the skill to execute each type of shot with excellent form. The importance of learning good fundamentals cannot be overstated. Good technique allows each student to continually improve, while poor technique limits their ability to achieve the higher levels of play.
TOURNAMENT DRILL CLASSES:
Tournament Drill 1
Mondays: 4:00-6:00pm $1320
Players can rally and serve fairly well but need technical improvements on their stroke mechanics. The clinic will include match play patterns for singles and doubles. Players are grouped by age and ability.
Tournament Drill 2
Thursdays: 4:00-6:00pm $1260
This is a continuation of Tournament Drill 1, but players have more hitting and playing experience. The focus will be to improve consistency, and stroke mechanics. Match play patterns and tactics for singles and doubles will be taught. Players are grouped by age and ability.
NOTE: To assist with placement in the appropriate clinic, the student's playing experience background should be provided. If there is a question, we recommend a 10-15 minute hitting assessment to determine the best fit.
Tournament Drill 3
Wednesdays: 4:00-6:00pm $1320
This clinic is for the high school player or aspiring high school player with strong playing skills. Players will continue to develop their consistency on all shots through live ball drilling. Each class will begin with a focus on a specific tactic or strategy through targeted drills. The remainder of the clinic will utilize live ball games that simulate match play.
At Yellow Dog Tennis, we focus on the entire game. Often we see players who train at local academies during the outdoor season and return to us with only a forehand to show for it. Having a big forehand is great, but if you lack a serve or volley, or cannot execute any of the other shots reliably, you're not playing tennis. Having a well rounded game is not only important during competition, but it makes the game of tennis a lot more fun!

As a service to our students and clients, we have made arrangements for stringing services to be provided by Capital Stringing & Tennis, LLC. I have known Pete and Steve for 5 years and they have consistently provided high technical quality to their restringing jobs and have been equally terrific with their customer service.
I highly recommend Capital Stringing and Tennis for all of your tennis equipment and repair needs!
